There remains a possibility regarding the future of TikTok in America as TikTok’s Chinese original company ByteDance has made it clear that If they are forced to, they will ban TikTok instead of selling their American business.
Tough choice for ByteDance
This decision has been driven by the ongoing controversy regarding the national security concerns of the US government. America is worried that TikTok may give data of users to the Chinese government. However, ByteDance has rejected these allegations outright.
But selling TikTok is also not easy. The algorithm that runs TikTok, also known as the company’s “secret sauce”. Very important for ByteDance’s entire business. It is believed that the company does not want to sell this algorithm to any buyer.
